Mrs Barone teaches Computer Aided Design (CAD) in room 235.
She has a professional background in interior design and is NYS certified as a CTE Teacher in Computer Aided Design. She also holds a Work Based Learning Coordinator's certificate. Mrs Barone is currently on leave - but will soon return! |

I teach Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Advanced CAD in 237 - The House of 10,000 Monkeys CAD Dojo. I also enjoy bubble tea. I am certified for teaching Mathematics, and some Career and Technology (CTE) areas - Computer Aided Design, Technical Drawing, and Computer Technology. I am pursuing a certification in Computer Science as well. |
Mrs. Jennifer Fitzpatrick is the Work Based Learning Coordinator at our school and can usually be found teaching Oracy skills to freshmen, or in the Career Development Center at our school where she helps students obtain internships, maintains relationships with internship sites, and acts as one of the liaisons to the NYC internship providers, such as UAU. She is considered our expert in Oracy, job-site skills, and job interview preparation.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick comes from a background of working in finance and has earn NYS Teaching Certifications in CTE Computer Technology, CTE Electrical Technology, CTE Work Based Learning Coordinator, and Students with Disabilities. |
Dr Frusci is One of our Computer Science teachers whom specializes in Cyber Security, IT Knowledge, and Software Developpment.
He has a professional background in cyber security and info tech. At SI Tech he teaches Computer Science and Economics courses. He also teaches at CSI - CUNY in History and Education.. He is certified in Career and Technology (CTE) and History. Dr Frusci is a published author and runs a blog called The Average Joe that features articles on history, economics, politics, technology, and education. |
Mr Henriques is a Principles of Engineering and Robotics teacher at our school. There is also an advanced version of his class that is sort of a Lochness Monster. He has also taught CAD in the past.
He has a background in Chemical Engineering and Physics. He is certified in Career and Technology (CTE) and Physics. Content covered in his amazing courses are gears, bridge design, robotics design and programming, drafting, and Autodesk inventor (CAD). |
Dr. Jax serves our department as the CTE Coordinator. He is a pivotal member of the department in many ways including maintaining our status as a CTE program in NYS, managing funding generated by our program that is largely used to buy equipment and pay participating personnel, as well as an unfathomable plethora of other essential functions. He also teaches Physics in the science department (meh).
He obtained his PhD from Columbia, and his MS and BS from Wagner College where he focused on Education and Physics. He is NYS certified Physics teacher, as well as students with special needs. Don't ever leave us Dr. Jax. We are bread to your butter. |
Mr. Manzo is the Assistant Principal of Technology (and History, meh) at SI Tech. He is also a proud graduate from the class of 97. Mr. Manzo has been working at Tech many years, first as a teacher of History.
Mr. Manzo can always be found in the Career Development Center at Tech where he is supported by several staff members to give foundation to the great initiative of our department, which is to provide clear pathways to careers and as much experience as possible before graduating. |
Mr. Michael Van Buren comes to us from industry experience in the field of Television Production. He is our resident TV Studio educator and guru. His classroom is probably the largest in the school because it consists of a traditional classroom area for editing footage and conducting classes, a real TV studio with huge professional equipment, and a live control room in which they can control recording and broadcasting of performances in the auditorium, studio, or remotely.

Mr. Wantowski is a legendary teacher in our school that is the heart of Electrical Engineering in our Technology Department. He also teaches Career and Financial Management with Entrepreneurship (BizInnovator).
Mr. Wantowski has an educational background in Electrical Engineering from Poland, as well as the United States. He can be found in our Electronics lab teaching Digital Electronics, Analog Electronics, or CFM/BizInnovator. He also is often down in the Makerspace helping kids bring their ideas to life using Electronic components. |
Mr. Whalen is a Computer Science Teacher at SI Tech as well as the IT Director of our school. He manages a trusted team of students to do the heavy lifting required to keep the teachers of SI Tech happy with their computers and printers. He is also responsible for quickly upgrading the technology of our school in the most needed areas.
He cannot and should not be found for face to face IT issues, students should follow access schedules and be sensitive to hierarchy of help within his "Mouse squad." Teachers need only to put a support ticket in.. Mr. Whalen has a degree in History as well as NYS Teacher Certifications in History and CTE Electrical Technology. |
Technology Department Essential Support Staff
Mr. Charles Dazzo is our resident Makerspace Teacher (OSHA Certified). He is the person you want to see about using tools safely, spray paint safely, for information on Solar Cars and Green Technology, and to find out about living peacefully in New Hampshire. He is a retired History teacher, as well as a retired Local 28 Sheet Metal Worker. He has a long connected reach into the labor unions, as well as several sources of grant money for our program and the SITHS Solar Car.
His proudest project is the Staten Island Solar Car at SITHS. It represents our city and state at the national solar car race annually and will soon represent NY at the world solar race. |
Mr. Barry Levine is an extremely talented retired science teacher that helps our department in several important initiatives. He is the Director of the VISIT program, where intelligent, underprivileged students from most elementary and middle schools on Staten Island and many in Brooklyn are invited to SI Tech for the day to inspire them to apply tour school when the time comes. The unparalleled program has impacted our enrollment in ways that still are not able to be perceived.
Mr. Levine also is the Director of our Backpacks to Briefcases program where he arranges for professionals in many fields to come to Tech and share their knowledge of their career and pathway to their career to the students of our school that are interested in those fields. He also helps out in other ways in our Career Office to help the Technology Dept shine, as well as being an integral part of the free Dream SHSAT Prep program targeted also towards underprivileged kids. |
Mrs. Maryann Reichal is a teacher that helps our in our Career Development Center in many ways. She assists the office in helping students secure and maintain their internships, helps coordinate Technology field trips, and typically is the voice of our department first heard to students and outsiders when communication is essential.
She also acts as an SI Tech liaison to the NYC internship providers, such as UAU. She supports all members of our department consistently including teachers, Dr. Jax the CTE Coordinator, Mrs Fitzpatrick the WBL Coordinator, and Mr. Manzo our AP. She also helped run the Tech Cafe at times for our school and Lifestyles for the Disabled. |
